I seem to be running into an issue with certificates I've never done something like this, so any help would be appreciated! Bit hard to say whether or not you need certificates when you haven't told us what exactly you are doing and what the problem with certificates is. We installed RADIUS just a couple of days ago on a R2 server, to use for authentication for our hardware firewall for VPN access, and we didn't have to do anything with certificates.
If possible, we would like to have some sort of internal webpage each user is directed to when they do this. I have already added the nps role to the server, and I was able to add a wireless AP client to it, but with what I have overheard I'm not sure if I need to integrate nps with AD so the users can authenticate as well as the possibility of needing certificates. There is a How To on here explaining how to do it but we just couldn't get it to work, I can't remember if it was because we don't have the Enterprise version of Windows Server or if there was another reason.
If you want to use username and passwords, there technically should be no need for certificates. But, I think your Windows client machine will only give you the choice of using username and passwords if your NPS server has a server certificate I'll get to that in a minute.
However, because of the way clients are configured I think you have to choose PEAP here which means you will need a server certificate. Once you finish the wizard, you'll have a new Connection Request policy for connections from This will be configured by default to authenticate these request using the local computer the NPS machine.
Condition can be matched with Radius Client Friendly Name. Other methods can be used such as IP address. Please Check with you Administrator about Provisioned roles and domains.

Updated: September 11, I did similar setup, except that I need WiFi things. However, it didn't work for me and I like to turn on debugging on Radius. That article says nothing about debugging. Or does it? Monday, October 26, AM. Hi Ilia chipitsine, I went through the above link provided by Deva but unfortunately it doesnt have information related to RAS debugging.
Hi There, Just want to check back if you were able to go through my post Solutions Architect. Tuesday, October 27, AM. And nothing is said about it in logs. Can log level be raised even more? In brief, I enabled "smart card or other certificate" for
