After his revival, Master Xehanort reveals to King Mickey and Riku that the actions of Ansem and Xemnas were to restore the legendary weapon by having the thirteen darknesses that are the vessels of Xehanort's heart clash with seven lights.
Although Sora had ruined the initial plan, Master Xehanort had anticipated interference and arranged for Ansem to go back in time and share his time-traveling ability with Young Xehanort , sending him to gather twelve incarnations of himself from across time to form a second Organization XIII. It has a filigree that slightly resembles one on the Ultima Weapon , and the blade slightly resembles the Dream Sword. It also has chips in the side of the blade, lacks a part of the filigree on one side, and part of the Kingdom Key's hilt is missing, making it look somehow broken or shattered.
The Keychain is a black and red heart that is similar to the Heartless symbol, only without the fleur-de-lis bottom and jagged cross, with two Kingdom Keys crossed over it. The chain starts out as two separate chains that form into one.
Although it is not seen in this incarnation, it is especially significant that the Kingdom Key has a silver blade and gold hilt, and the Kingdom Key D has a gold blade and silver hilt, matching the keys on the symbol. Why It Sucks Repetitive gameplay with very little strategy, especially with spells.
Most of the battles are easily won by mashing the same buttons over and over and using the same spells. The game plays like a mediocre clone of Devil May Cry mixed with God of War , though it predated Bayonetta 2 years before its release.
Inconsistent tone. The pre-rendered cutscenes imply that this game has cel-shaded graphics, especially how Ayumi is represented, but the graphics in the gameplay are realistic 3D. Boss battles are generic damage sponges and have little variety and strategy to take down. The game punishes you if you unlock any of the dark spells. If you unlock one of the dark spells, you get the bad ending where Ayumi kills Jay and mourns his death, forcing you to start the game over.
The main character, Ayumi is very unlikable with her voice acting and personality, with the overuse of the line "I'm the best there is! It is the inspiration for all human-wrought Keyblades , all of which are imperfectly created after its image. Revealing to have masterminded a series of events orchestrated by Ansem, Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas , Xehanort plotted to respectively obtain Seven Guardians of Light , formed from either seven Keyblade wielders or the Princesses of Heart , and thirteen darknesses in the form of the real Organization XIII , vessels that hold Xehanort's heart and are extensions of the Keyblade Master himself.
While thwarted, Xehanort arranged for his younger self to travel through time and gather his other selves. However, the union of light or darkness is not fulfilled in time, and Xehanort and his new Organization are forced to escape. Master Xehanort soon uses it to summon Kingdom Hearts and corrupts it with his darkness for the purpose of purging the world and starting it again.
