Z-index iframe pdf

Each frame was a simple, relatively small area of text that displayed the current share price for a listed fund:. There were to be 3 frames in total.

Each frame was to display a different price, in the bottom 2 frames, only the share price was to be displayed and not any of the other content. Using standard CSS positioning techniques I was able to position the 3 frames so that the 3 share prices were aligned correctly:. To get around this we use the z-index property of CSS. There is one to make it hide the pdf when being moused over, I cannot allow that one. I have tried the classic approach of how to do this with flash setting wmode to transparent , and it doesn't work for PDFs.

Re: Problem IE 11 PDF in iframe above banner and menu on sc Post by barb woolums » Sun May 10, pm The problem is that in Internet explorer a pdf in an iframe sits above my banner and menu when you scroll down the page. Re: Problem IE 11 PDF in iframe above banner and menu on sc Post by Christopher » Mon May 11, pm I guess it is cause by the top menu being absolutely positioned and the z-index for the frame being higher.

If it is possible to fix, try setting the z-index of your menu higher than the iframe. Have you searched to see if this is a known problem? Re: Problem IE 11 PDF in iframe above banner and menu on sc Post by barb woolums » Tue May 12, pm As I said in my original post There is stuff all over the web on this issue, and I have tried everything with no luck, and got so frustrated I gave up.

Plus, only your outer layout would be the HTML4 frames page. IE no longer rendered the pdf at all. Have discovered that I also have the same issue in Safari, hmmm that's not good as all is good in chrome. Was really surprised they took the time.
